Postgraduate Study

Department of Chemistry

Analytical Chemistry and Information Technology

MSc/Diploma/Certificate 1 year full-time, 2-5 years part-time

An increasing use in industry of computer technology in the field of chemistry means a need for chemists to understand the technology on which these processes are based. Chemists wishing to extend their career opportunities have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of analytical chemistry at Masters level while increasing their understanding of IT.

This programme includes modules offered by the Departments of Chemistry and Computer Science and brings together two important aspects of modern chemistry. Through the credit transfer system, it may be possible to combine modules on this programme with appropriate modules from other programmes or institutions to form a tailored course of study leading to a formal qualification of Certificate, Diploma or MSc where appropriate.

The mode of delivery, via a combination of self learning and short courses, provides a high degree of accessibility for those in full-time employment.
